Visiting with Santa

I keep putting off when we would meet with Santa, mainly just looking for the best time to go.  Brody was excited about going.  He had been working on his list and talking about all the things he wanted.  He even cut pictures out of one of those big toy ads they put out right after thanksgiving and made a collage of all the things he wanted.  I keep telling him that Santa can't bring him all those things.  On the big day we decided on just a few of the things to tell Santa.  We got to the mall early so the line wouldn't be that long.  We had to wait for a little while but nothing too bad. The kids were excited.  They both waved at Santa when he got there and greeted the children waiting.  Briar was ready up until the moment of approach.  It was our turn.  Brody walks right up and sits on Santa's lap.  Briar stands still, not even walking into the designated "Santa workshop" area and cries, covering her eyes.  Everyone in line is looking at her in shock, some are kind of laughing (maybe that was just me?).  They have been around us for close to an hour and this is the only moment she showed any fear or worry.  I ignored her and took pictures of Brody.  Afterwards I carried her past and out of harms way.  It still took her awhile to calm down.  Brody was excited that they gave him silly bands afterwards.  He immediately took them all out of the package and put them one.

Brody said he wanted star wars toys, a DS and a Mario game.  He told Santa Brair wanted a cup like his and birthday cake.
